The Douglas Lake area offers many free lake access launches and Marinas so getting on the lake takes only minutes. New Homes in these non lakefront areas start in the range of $125,000 to $150,000 for a nice 3 Bd/2Ba family size home. Whereas the same size home at lakefront starts at $350,000 and up.
Good "strong water" lake lots are also becoming harder to find and ranging from $150,000 to up $400,000 Lots on smaller coves are still in the range of $75,000 and up. Many people are taking the route of buying lake view properties instead of Lakefront and use the many Marinas in the area as their Lakefront access.
