The Grace Shrader Park originated when a group of citizens set up a 501(c)(3) corporation called Dandridge Recreational Facilities, Inc. (DRF) to begin working toward constructing a youth oriented sport and recreational facility.
On February 2, 1999, the DRF and the Town of Dandridge entered into an agreement which made this dream come true and the name, Field of Dreams, evolved. *NEW* DandridgeFieldOfDreams.com

Through grants from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation's Local Parks and Recreation Funds and the efforts of the DRF, South Jefferson Little League Baseball, Dandridge Bronco Football League, the Town of Dandridge, and numerous volunteers, both corporate and private individuals, the dream has become a reality and future expansions are happening each year.
The facility currently houses four (4) lighted Little League size baseball fields, two (2) Senior League size baseball fields, football field, soccer field, two concession stands, restroom facilities, picnic pavilion and volleyball court, approximately three-fourths mile of walking trail, swings, slides, and other younger-children outdoor games.

Currently fundraising events are being held and grant applications being presented to construct an activity center which will ultimately house two basketball courts, a gymnastics/cheerleading room, volleyball courts, meeting rooms, and indoor walking track.
Future plans call for lighting of senior league baseball fields, construction on additional restrooms and concession stands, expanding the outdoor walking trail, construction of additional picnic facilities with grills, tables, and benches, and lighting the outdoor walking trails.
