A key program currently under the initiative of the Chamber is Jefferson County, Building a Better Future. ‘Listening’ meetings were recently conducted in various communities in the county to allow planner Henry Luke an opportunity to hear the pros and cons of living and working in the county from all interested citizens. A board of 150 committed residents will be formed to plan a strategy that will develop industry and employment opportunities that will match or exceed surrounding counties.
